ESBA supervises several community outreach programs which are designed to enhance the local communities and to encourage the achievement of excellence in the study of the building trades.

ESBA 1999 Public Relations/Community Outreach Project
ESBA has undertaken the expansion and upgrade of facilities at the Salisbury Zoological Park. This $70,000+ project is being managed by ESBA Past President, Paul Elliott (Elliott/Kinnamon Construction) and will be completed with the donations of materials and labor by ESBA members.   • Ward Museum (Salisbury, MD) 1993 - Constructed Observation Deck
  • Salisbury Zoological Park (Salisbury, MD) 1994 - Constructed 1,100 sq. ft. Educational Building; Donated all materials and labor
  • Shad Landing State Park (Worcester County, MD) 1995-1996 - Renovated and Expanded Registration Building; Constructed Reception Deck; Constructed and Donated Playground Equipment at Three Camping Loops; All Materials and Labor Donated
  • Milburn Landing State Park (Worcester County, MD) 1997 - Donated Materials for Playground Equipment

Educational Awards Programs:

ESBA supports area technical schools through an Award of Excellence program. Qualifying honors students receive ESBA Certificates of Excellence, a $250 Savings Bond, and opportunities for employment with industry affiliates.

Additional Grants:
Additional funding based on financial need is allocated to area students representing the State of Maryland in the national VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) Competitions. The funding is used to allay travel expenses to the national competitions.

Scholarship Program:
College scholarships based on financial need and honors achievement are given to qualifying students of the Construction Management program.

Other Contributions:

American Heart Association, 1992, 1993, 1994
Set up rest station and donated manpower, food an beverage service for participants.

Habitat For Humanity
Contributed portion of proceeds from ESBA Annual Fall Golf Outing along with award proceeds from the Putt-for-Cash Putting Contest. Total contribution - $6,975.
